Honouring History within the Town of Pingelly
A significant aspect of Pingelly, and honouring the history, has been the establishment of a brand-new Museum committee named the Pingelly Museum and Historical Group.
The group was revitalised and expanded in 2023 and has found its home within the historic Town Hall, located on the main street of Pingelly.
Through the collaborative efforts of the museum members, the museum hosted the official reopening of the Town Hall on the 23 September 2023.
The Pingelly Museum and Historical Group is run by volunteers, and with the effort of the volunteers, residents, local curators and the Shire of Pingelly. The Town Hall includes multiple historical displays:
- Neil Gill's Sulky and Buggie Collection - Mr Neil Gill kindly donated a collection of restored sulkies and buggies to the Shire of Pingelly. These amazing pieces of history are proudly displayed on the stage floor of the Town Hall.
- The RSL Collection of Soldier Profiles - This is a large collection of local soldiers who fought in WWI and WWII. Honouring the local resident soldiers, these profiles are on permanent display within the Town Hall.
- Lost Pingelly Collection
- People of Pingelly Past and Present
- The original Pingelly Telephone Exchange
- War Memorabilia
- Local Honour Boards - Representing the past history of Pingelly.
- Pingelly inventions and creations - Honouring the creators and the history of Pingelly.
- Tool evolution display - Displaying the evolution of tools through time.
- Rotational displays - There are several rotational displays that reflect the heritage and history of Pingelly through presentations of memorabilia.
The Pingelly Museum and Historical Group are an enthusiastic group of volunteers who strive with a passion of the history of Pingelly, and preserving it for all to see and enjoy.
