In partnership with the Live Music Office and Australasian Performing Right Association and Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (APRA AMCOS), the Shire of Pingelly will be the first local government in Western Australia to deliver Live and Local; a capacity building program to increase the number of opportunities for live music activations within Pingelly, support the professional development of local and regional musicians, as well as develop a Pingelly Live Music Strategy to support live and local music development into the future. More background information about Live and Local is available here.
The Pingelly Live and Local Music Project Working Group held their first meeting on Friday, 4 December. The Pingelly Live and Local Music Project Working Group consists of representatives from:
- Friends of Pingelly Railway Station
- Pingelly Exchange Tavern
- Pingelly Hotel
- Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre
- Pingelly Tourism Group
- Shire of Pingelly
Lucy Joseph, from Live and Local Music Office, joined the meeting virtually from Sydney to provided members with an in depth view of the project, before the group mapped how the first three months of Live and Local activations could look and feel.
